SVDungeon builds a dungeon in a free area of your map with one click: a maze, a room-and-corridor dungeon or a cave system, out of static items. The same seed and settings always give the same dungeon.

This is an early preview of a work in progress, shared to try out and to get feedback on. It builds the place: there are no monsters, loot or quests yet. It is a hobby project, so there is no support obligation and replies come as time allows.

The same dungeons seen from above (start, boss, treasure, mini-boss, shrine and exit rooms are colour coded):

What it does
  • Three layouts: maze, rooms and cave, with dead-end or through dungeons and start, boss, treasure, mini-boss and shrine rooms.
  • Reproducible: seed, size and settings fully describe a dungeon, so a fixed seed gives you a fixed event location.
  • Pet and mount friendly: corridor width 2 to 8 tiles, and every layout is checked so the corridors really are that wide and every room can be reached.
  • Themes and decoration: stone, sandstone and cave themes, optional floor paving, wall torches, pillars and props (litter, webs, crates, candles). Props never block the way.
  • Admin gump with Easy and Advanced mode, plus the same functions as commands. Everything it builds is tagged, so [SVDungeonClean removes exactly that again.

  • A framework: layout strategies, themes, validators and decorators are small interfaces with registries, so you can add your own without touching the built-in code. (A manual for this is planned.)

Try it in a few steps

  1. Copy the SVDungeon folder into your Scripts/Custom and start the server. Back up your world first: a dungeon is thousands of static items.
  2. Teleport to a free spot and open [SVDungeonGump.
  3. On the Area tab press Set anchor here, then Check area.
  4. Pick the layout and the size, press Generate, then Actions > Go to > Entrance.

The zip contains a README and a quick start guide with screenshots. Tested on ServUO Publish 57 with the ClassicUO client. Run [SVDungeonTiles once after installing: it checks the themes' art ids against your shard's tile data.

Roadmap (ideas, not promises)

Spawner and mob selector with difficulty levels, moongates and a closed frame around the dungeon, a "dungeon of the day" on a schedule, a race mode (find the exit first, automatic regeneration), more than one dungeon at a time, more themes, an arena layout.

What I would like to know

  1. What would you want first: a race mode, a dungeon of the day, or monsters and loot?
  2. Which themes are missing for your shard?
  3. Would you write your own layouts or themes, and what would you need for that (manual, examples)?

Bug reports and ideas are welcome in this thread.
