Connecting Friends to Your ServUO Shard
Your friends will need a few things to connect:
1. Download the Ultima Online Client
They need to download the
Ultima Online Enhanced Client or Classic Client — since you're running
Endless Journey, it's free! They can get it from:
- EA/Origin — the official UO client (free to play with Endless Journey)
- The UO Downloads page at uo.com
2. Point the Client to Your Server
The client by default connects to EA's official servers. They need to redirect it to
your IP address. There are two main ways:
Option A — Use Razor or ClassicUO (Recommended)
- Download Razor (a UO assistant) or ClassicUO (a free open-source client)
- Both let you set a custom server IP/port in their settings
- Your server runs on port 2593 by default
- They'd enter your public IP and port 2593
Option B — Edit the login.cfg fileIn the UO install directory, edit (or create) login.cfg and add:
ServerIP=YOUR.PUBLIC.IP
ServerPort=2593
3. What You Need to Provide Them
- Your public IP address (google "what is my IP" to find it)
- Port 2593 (ServUO default)
- Confirm you've port forwarded 2593 on your router to the machine running ServUO
4. Port Forwarding (Critical Step)
If friends are connecting
over the internet (not just LAN), you must:
- Log into your router admin page
- Forward TCP port 2593 to the local IP of your ServUO machine
- Make sure Windows Firewall also allows port 2593
Quick Summary for Your Friends
"Download ClassicUO (free), set the server to [your public IP] port 2593, create an account on the login screen, and you're in!"
You may also want to set up
account creation — by default ServUO allows in-game account creation on the login screen, but check your AccountHandler.cs settings if it's not working.
