Overview

The Appraiser buys magical loot in bulk and pays the player with bank checks.
Players can drop:
  • A single item, or
  • A container/bag with many items
The Appraiser processes every eligible item, sums total gold, and pays out in one or more checks.

What It Buys

  • Non-artifact magical weapons
  • Non-artifact magical armor and clothing
  • Non-artifact magical jewelry and talismans
  • Non-artifact magical spellbooks
  • Slayer instruments (instrument must have at least one slayer property)

What It Rejects

  • Artifacts and artifact-rarity items
  • Newbied items
  • Non-magical items (items with no meaningful magical properties)
  • Instruments with no slayer property

Pricing Behavior

The Appraiser uses an exponential pricing curve.
In simple terms:
  • Item magic power is converted into an internal points value
  • Higher points increase price slowly at first, then faster at higher ranges
  • Final price is scaled by a fixed gold multiplier
Current multiplier and caps:
  • Gold multiplier: 3,000,000
  • Per-item cap: 100,000,000 gold

Item Power Mapping

For normal magic items:
  • Base power comes from loot-oriented magic intensity
  • Power is normalized to a shard-wide baseline scale
For slayer instruments:
  • Any valid slayer instrument is mapped to a fixed high-tier point value
  • Current fixed point value: 300,000

Value Adjustments

The Appraiser applies two optional adjustments before final pricing:
  • Mod concentration bonus:
    • More concentrated magic on fewer properties gets a bonus
    • Bonus scales from 0% to 10%
    • Weak concentration is not penalized
  • Negative-property penalties:
    • Items with negative traits (for example cursed/antique/brittle-like downsides) are reduced
    • Penalties stack multiplicatively

Payout Rules

  • Each item is priced individually
  • Total value is paid using bank checks
  • A single bank check is capped at 2,000,000,000 gold
  • If total exceeds that amount, multiple checks are issued
  • Dropped containers are returned after processing (unsold contents remain inside)
